A Jeweller Built This?! | The Silver Guillotine Project Alright… this one started with a very strange request. Someone asked if we could make a miniature guillotine… out of solid silver. Now as jewellers we’re used to making engagement rings, repairs, and bespoke commissions — but this? This was something completely different. So we decided to take on the challenge. In this video you’ll see how we designed and built a fully detailed silver guillotine by hand, using the same traditional jewellery techniques we use every day at the bench. Every part had to be carefully made — the frame, the blade, the mechanism — all from precious metal. But the project also gave us the chance to explore the strange and fascinating history of the guillotine, a machine that became one of the most infamous symbols of the French Revolution. This video is about craftsmanship, history, and what happens when jewellers decide to push their skills in a completely unexpected direction. Because when you understand what can be made by hand… you realise the possibilities are endless. If you enjoy seeing real jewellery craftsmanship behind the scenes, make sure you subscribe. It helps us keep making these videos and showing what real jewellers actually do. 💎 Need FREE jewellery advice?
